<p>The problem is that storm water runoff, created by rain or snowmelt, flows over the ground, picks up debris, chemicals and other pollutants and deposits them in the storm sewer system and streams. Anything that enters the storm sewer is discharged untreated into the water bodies we use for swimming, fishing and providing drinking water.
